2 Smileys

10 Things in 10 Days: Day Nine - Two Smileys That Describe My Life Right Now

1. :-D - I am all smiles!  Life's good right now.  I am happy with my family and the things that we have going on right now.

2. ;| - Sleepy.  Or at least my version.  I am exhausted.  It seems like there is always something to do, and no break in sight.  I'll be sneaking in naps wherever possible.

3 Turn Ons

10 Things in 10 Days: Day Eight- Three Turn Ons
1. Sense of Humor/Smile: I find a sense of humor that is compatible with my own to be a big turn on.  If nothing else, Mikey and I laugh.  A lot!  I just know that Micah is going to grow up laughing at us.  I am also certain that he's going to get in trouble at school for laughing. His dad did.
2. Smell:  Mikey always usually smells good enough to eat.  At one point, I would wear his cologne because I loved the smell of him so much.  I like a good smelling man.
3. Swagger:  This is hard for me to explain.  Sometimes there's just something about a confident man that is very attractive.  Even if I'm not attracted to someone physically, if they carry themselves with confidence, I notice.

4 Turn Offs

10 Things in 10 Days: Day Seven - Four Turn Offs

1.  Rudeness:  I dislike rude people.  That includes snide remarks, passive aggressive jokes, and acting as if you are better than others.

2.  Body Odor:  I think this is pretty self explanatory.  I don't want to smell myself.  I certainly don't want to smell anyone else.

3.  Smoking:  Yuck.  I don't know anyone who wants to kiss an ash tray.  I certainly don't.  It's an expensive bad habit to have, and an unattractive one at that.

4.  "Pretty" Men:  I don't really know what to call this, but I am turned off by men who are prettier than most women.  I also consider it a turn off when it takes a man longer to get ready than his female counterpart.  But then, I am also turned off by unkempt men as well.  I don't find sagging pants, unkempt hair, or grills attractive.

5 People Who Mean A Lot (in no order whatsoever)

I am continuing this blog game that I started oh so long ago.

10 Things in 10 Days: Day Six: Five People Who Mean A Lot (in no order whatsoever)

1.  Micah:  I think this one is pretty self-explanatory.  Micah has become so much of my life.  I wake up each morning thinking about you, and go to sleep thinking about you.
2. Mikey:  We promised to  stay together for the rest of our lives.  Of course, he means a lot to me.
3. My mother: She gave me life.  Without her, I would not be here.  We talk everyday.
4. My sister: She's my only sister, and I love her to pieces.
5. My brothers:  There are two of them, but they are very special to me, each in their own way.

6 Things I Wish I'd Never Done

10 Things in Ten Days: Day Five - Six Things You Wish You'd Never Done

1.  I wish I had not declined to participate in an internship with Disney.
2.  I wish I had not been in such a hurry to purchase my first car.  I should have taken the time to do more research.  Maybe then I wouldn't have ended up with such a dud.
3.  I wish I had not been such a people pleaser growing up.
4.  I wish  I had chosen to enjoy my college experience more instead of focusing so much on other things.  Knowing what I know now, I would have participated in more activities, and travelled more.
5.  I wish I had not taken so long to get serious about finishing my research project.
6.  I wish I had gone on the trip Mikey and I initially planned for our honeymoon.

Oh yeah, and this is my 100th post.

7 Thing That Cross My Mind... A Lot

10 Things in Ten Days: Day Four - Seven Things That Cross Your Mind A Lot

1.  Micah:  He is always on my mind.  I think about him when he moves.  I think about what he will look like when he gets here.  I think about the different things that we will teach him.

2.  Mikey:  I think about him all the time also.  I think about what we have come through, and what the future holds for us.

3.  Work:  It's so complicated at work now.

4.  "I want to go on a vacation."  I love to travel, and often get the urge to travel.

5.  Football:  I dread the end of football season already.

6.  Crafts:  I wish I was a crafty person.  Unfortunately, as much as I try, I don't think I really am.  But that doesn't stop me from thinking about it.

7.  House Hunting:  We aren't quite there yet, but I really want my own space.

8 Ways to Win My Heart

10 Things in 10 Days: Day Three - Eight Ways to Win Your Heart

1.  Food.  I love to eat good food.  Feed me good food, and I'm your friend.

2.  Love Children.  I love to see my husband with children.  He is so good with kids, and I look forward to seeing him interact with Micah (and any other kids we have.)

3.  Shopping.  I love to shop.  Shop with me, and we're friends.  Just don't get huffy because I want to go into certain stores and you don't.

4.  Music.  I love music, and if you're interested in my type of music or introduce me to music that I enjoy, then we can be friends.  That's actually how Mikey and I first became friends.  I was raiding his music collection.

5.  Laughter.  Make me laugh.  Mikey excels at this.  We spend so much time laughing at each other and ourselves.

6.  Be my Friend.  I don't have many friends, so when I feel like you genuinely care about me and listen, then I am probably already half way loving you.  Unless you're annoying, then I just try to avoid you. (That's at least partially a joke.)

7.  Smile.  One of the things that drew me to Mikey was his smile.  And he's smiling and laughing all the time.  No one wants to be around a someone who is always complaining.

8.  Buy Me Stuff.  This one is completely a joke, but I ran out of stuff to say.  And who doesn't like gifts from time to time?  I sure do.

9 Things About Myself

10 Things in 10 Days: Day Two – Nine Things About Yourself

1.       I act like I’m drunk when I’m sleep deprived. A happy drunk, but a drunk none the less. I laugh at anything, and become much more social.

2.       I am a nerd.  I always loved school because I was learning something new all the time.  I loved that by learning one thing it could lead to learning so much more.  I also love to read.  I would rather read than watch television any day of the week.  According to some people I know, that also makes me a nerd.  I beg to differ, but to each his own.

3.       I have always looked forward to being a mother, and cannot wait until it is time for Micah to be born.  I often talk about my youngest brother and my godchildren as if they are my children when talking to people.  And a funny thing is, I never played with dolls as a girl, but always loved babies.

4.       I can’t swim, but I love water.  I am a complete water-baby.  I will wash the dishes just to play in the water, and showers are an event.  I plan to take swimming lessons this summer.  I also want Micah to learn to swim.  He will start lessons this upcoming summer as well.  The only reason I have for not knowing how to swim is that I was never taught.  We didn’t have regular access to a pool growing up, and I just never learned.

5.       I am a football fanatic.  Football is the only sport I will watch on television. If it is any other sport, I have to be at the event.  I bleed garnet and black. GO GAMECOCKS!!!  I am also a Dallas Cowboys fan.  But truly it doesn’t matter who is playing.  I just want to watch a game.  I mourn the end of football season.

6.       I love to shop.  Give me money and I will spend it.  It doesn’t matter to me if I am shopping for myself or for someone else.  I will shop for purses, clothes, shoes, home décor.  It really doesn’t matter.   I also appreciate that Mikey feels the same way.

7.       I’m allergic to the color pink. Very rarely will you see me wear it, and my daughters won’t wear it unless they buy it for themselves.  I already have some family members who are telling me that if and when I have a daughter they will be buying her pink.  I guess we are in for a battle.

8.      I love music.  I will listen to the same song over and over for hours at a time, for days on end.  My iPod or Pandora is usually playing.

9.       I love to travel.  I dream of visiting every state in the United States of America, and visiting the Mediterranean.  It is so bad that I would get in my car and drive for hours with no place in particular to go. I find it very relaxing to just get in my car, turn the music up to full blast, and ride. I love road trips.  I am a little afraid that Micah will be so accustomed to traveling while in the womb, that we will have to put him into the car to get him to fall asleep once he gets here.  It is just that bad.

10 Things I Want to Say: Right Now!

10 Things in 10 Days: Day One - Ten Things You Want to Say to Ten Different People, Right Now.

1. My Son (Micah): I love you, and can’t wait for you to get here. Your father and I have such great dreams for you, and can’t wait for you to come and dream your own dreams.

2. My Husband (Mikey): I love you, and look forward to many years (and not quite so many babies) to come with you.

3. Mama: Thank you! Micah’s not even here yet, and I am already in awe of how you raised three of us, and worked with pre-school aged kids for the past 20-something years.

4. My Sister: I am so proud of you. You are doing something that I can’t even imagine doing myself. You inspire me every day. I can’t wait for you to get home.

5. My Little, Little Brother: I love you stinker. I hope you grow up to be a better man.

6. My Big, Little Brother: I miss you. I know we grow up and our relationships evolve, but I miss what we had. I hope that we can get it back.

7. My Best Friend: Thank you for being a friend. No matter how long it is between our conversations, I know you have my back, always.

8. Politicians: You shouldn’t throw stones when you live in glass houses. And stop making my head hurt with all the stupid commercials full of lies. Get off your butts and do something that means something.

9. Brett Favre: RETIRE ALREADY!

10. My Father: I wish things could have been different. You never fought for us that way, and that makes me sad.
