Corrin: {Three Months}

Photobucket

Alternate Title: Corrin: Thirteen Weeks

At three months, Corrin...

... weighs approximately 13 pounds, according to our home scale.

... wears size 1 diapers.  She can now fit into 3-6 month clothes, but still wears 0-3 month mostly.

... loves Micah.  When he steps into her line of sight, she immediately focuses on him.  She smiles and coos at him all the time.

Photobucket

... is still almost exclusively breastfed.  I say almost exclusively, because on some days, she eats more than I have pumped the day before.  It is especially hard when she is going through a growth spurt.  So on those days, she gets between two and four ounces of formula.

... dislikes formula.  She will only take formula if breastmilk is not available.  If she know I am home, she refuses the bottle.  She knows what she wants, and isn't afraid to let us know.

... does well sleeping at night.  Some nights, she will sleep "through the night."  That means, she sleeps up to six hours straight. I love those nights.  There are also nights that she wakes up several times to eat, or because she has gas.  Those nights are not so fun.

Photobucket

... is still working to overcome eczema.  Mikey and I keep her skin moisturized throughout the day.  We are using Aquaphor, and it works very well for her skin, but you can still see that she has eczema.

... will now stay in her carseat without screaming her head off.  At least for a little while.  She also will sit in her swing for longer periods of time.

... is now more accepting of diaper changes and baths.  She still doesn't like anyone touching her hair or cleaning her nose.

... pulls her hair.  It may be the eczema, because the cradle cap is gone.

... is called Rin, Little Miss, Sissy, Baby Girl, and Possum.

The Tree's Been Trimmed

My favorite holiday has always been Christmas.  There was always something magical about this time of the year.  And every year, I've always taken the lead with decorating the Christmas tree.  Well this year, I have finally decorated the Christmas tree in my own home.

Our Weekend Recap

I apologize in advance.  I did not take one, single picture over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  I am a blogger slacker.  Continue if you would like to read about our weekend.

Our Thanksgiving weekend started Wednesday after I got off work.  When I got home, we loaded up the car, and hit the road, bound for South Carolina.  The trip was pretty uneventful.  Thanksgiving was wonderful.  We slept in.  Mimi cooked breakfast.  We ate, then we started getting ready for our day.  Auntie Angel cooked some delicious pound cakes.  Mimi made macaroni, and potato salad, and I made peach cobbler.  Then we headed over to my grandparent's house. We ate absolutely too much food, but it was so delicious that we all wanted more. After hanging out over there for a while, we headed to my other grandparent's house.  We laughed and talked with them for a while, before we headed back to Mimi's house to get dressed for church.  At least, the kids and I did.  Mikey went Black Friday shopping.  (On Thursday.)

Friday,  Corrin and I hung out together.  Mikey and Micah visited Mikey's family.  Corrin and I had a very relaxing day. We took naps, and watched television all day.  Mostly, we took naps.  That evening, we went to church, before meeting up with my best friends for dinner.  It's always fun when we all get together.

Saturday, we put up Mimi's Christmas tree, and hung out together.  Saturday night, we went to church for our annual revival's concert.  We also celebrated South Carolina's win over Clemson.  They had us worried for a while there, but Carolina pulled through for the win.

Sunday, we woke up late, but headed to church anyway.  After church, we ate and packed up the car. Then we made a few stops to see a few people that we missed during the rest of our visit.  Finally we were on our way home.  We made it home absolutely too late, especially since I had to go to work today.   We say it every time we go home, but here goes...  The next time, we are going to leave at a reasonable time, so we can get a good night's sleep.

Transitioning

Mikey and I have been going back and forth for quite a while about when to transition Micah into a toddler bed.  Really, Mikey was okay with transitioning him whenever.  I, on the other hand, did not want to transition him too soon.  I also did not really want to deal with the stress that can come with transitioning children from the confinement of a crib to the freedom of a toddler bed.  Mostly, I don't want my baby to be growing up so fast.

Well after Micah and Corrin's doctor appointment Friday, we decided that it was time.  Micah is 36 inches tall.  That is the recommended maximum height for his crib.  Friday night was a success.  Mikey and I let him stay up a little later than we normally would.  Micah went to bed, and slept through the night.  Success! Saturday night was not quite as successful.  He went to bed with no problem.  Then during the night, he fell out of the bed.  He was not a happy camper.

First night in the big boy bed!

I am waiting for the night when he appears in our bedroom without warning.  I am also waiting for him to realize that he doesn't have to stay put after we have put him to bed.  So far once we put him to bed he falls asleep without complaint.  He also stays in bed until we come in and get him.  It seems like I just brought him home from the hospital, and now he's two years old, and transitioning to a big boy bed.  So far I can't really complain about this transition.  My baby is growing up.  I am working on accepting this.  I am taking it one transition at a time.
