Pretend Play
Micah is finally into the stage where he is mimicking things that Mikey and I do, and engaging in pretend play. It is so much fun to see him learning and growing before our eyes. Last night he decided to "iron" his pajama bottoms.

It Won't Be Like This For Long
After this week, I needed this song to remind me that it won't be like this for long.
I know that this time next year, I will be longing for these days. Even though it's hard right now, I know I will wish for this time again. I have to remind myself to cherish these moments with my baby now.
Darius Rucker is able to say it so much better than I. Here are the lyrics.
Darius Rucker is able to say it so much better than I. Here are the lyrics.
He didn't have to wake up
He'd been up all nite
Lay'n there in bed listen'n
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
Splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says
It's gonna be OK
It won't be like this for long
One day soon we'll look back laugh'n
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby just hold on
It won't be like this for long
Four years later bout four thirty
She's crawling in their bed
And when he drops her off at preschool
She's clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says what can I do
She says now don't you worry
This will only last a week or two
It won't be like this for long
One day soon you'll drop her off
And she won't even know your gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It won't be like this for long
He'd been up all nite
Lay'n there in bed listen'n
To his new born baby cry
He makes a pot of coffee
Splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says

One day soon you'll drop her off
And she won't even know your gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It won't be like this for long
Some day soon she'll be a teenager
And at times you'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the aisle
And raise her vail
But right now she's up and cry'n
And the truth is that he don't mind
As he kisses her good night
And she says her prayers
He lays down there beside her
Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watch'n her it breaks his heart
Cause he already knows
It won't be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
Yeah this phase is gonna fly by
So he's try'n to hold on
Cause, it won't be like this for long
It won't be like this for long
And at times you'll think she hates him
Then he'll walk her down the aisle
And raise her vail
But right now she's up and cry'n

Fall Fun 2012: Corn Dawgs Part 2
Continuing our adventures at Corn Dawgs from Part 1. We actually managed to complete two activities on our Fall Fun list. We visited the corn maze and the pumpkin patch.
The pumpkin patch!
My favorite!
House of pumpkin
He thought he had a field full of balls.
Cheese!
A nice couple took a family picture for us. They also had a boy (4) and a girl (2) who were two years apart.
Then we made it to the six and under area, and Micah really enjoyed himself.
Baby zip lines!
He enjoyed the zip line.
Corrin slept the whole time we were there.
King of the Hay!
He refused to ride the Flying Pig.
Happy Fall Y'all!
Done.

Pottying and Painting
Today was a day of firsts for the Giles family. First, Micah went potty in the potty for the first time. I'm so proud of my big boy. I'm not sure he entirely understands exactly that we want him to go in the potty all the time, but he is getting it. Mikey is really the one who is potty training him, because I am at work during the day. He's doing an awesome job. I just provide a little advice, and lots of praises, for both of my boys.
Then later, Micah painted for the first time. He's a regular Picasso. I had planned for this to be our activity last weekend, but was too lazy to actually do it. I also wanted to make sure that we had appropriate materials, because I was worried about Micah maybe trying to eat the paint.
He started slowly.
Then he started getting in his groove.
Look at the concentration.
He did very well though. There was no eating of the paint. Micah was actually very tidy about his painting. He got paint on his fingers at one point, and I had to clean his hands before he would continue painting. Of course, some paint found it's way onto the floor, but I was pleasantly surprised with how neat he was.
Cheese!
Masterpiece!
He was actually drumming on the floor, though it looks like he was painting.
Micah and his masterpiece.
And here's video of the painting.

Baby Girl Exercising {Video}
Corrin has been particularly active for the last few days. Here she is really stretching out. It was a little weird seeing her moving around like this. Mostly because, I've been getting a few kicks, but nothing like this before now.

Fighting Cousins {Video}
** Catching Up **
Micah and Sierra have spent the past few days together. Now whenever they get together, they always want the same toy. It doesn't matter that usually they are swimming in a sea of toys. If one of them has a toy, the other has to have it too. I haven't heard the word "MINE!" so much in my life. Here's a video of the two of them "fighting" over Sierra's chair. Micah cries, and Sierra squeals. Fun times.

26 Weeks Update
At 26 weeks gestation...
... I have more energy. I really thought I was going to go through this entire pregnancy as a run down, tired, haggard looking something. Just a couple weeks shy of the third trimester, my body decides to allow me some energy. I am so grateful. At least I am having this time, because the third trimester is fast approaching, and with it, I'm sure I'll be tired again.
... I have a doctor's appointment this week. I wasn't supposed to be going back for another appointment until 28 weeks. My doctor decided it would be a better idea to split up that appointment, because I would have had my glucose test, my Rhogam shot, and my first biophysical exam all at the 28 week appointment. That's a bit much.
... I'm still having swelling. It's not horribly bad. It just makes walking around a little uncomfortable by the end of the day.
... the real pain in the neck is the pain in my back. No matter how I situate myself, my back hurts. About the only thing that eases the pain is to apply heat to the muscles. By the end of the day, all I want to do is lay down, and rest my poor aching body. I think I'm going to have to find a support belt for my back.
... my sleep is pretty good. Of course, I have to get up during the night to use the restroom, but other than that, I sleep pretty well. The only other thing that wakes me up during the night is back aches because my belly is pulling on my back muscles.
... you can see Baby Girl moving around from the outside. I have no idea what she's doing in there, but she looks like she's practicing to be an acrobat or contortionist.
... I weigh in at 123 pounds, and my belly measures 34.25 inches around.

Micah's Happening
It's been a while since I've shown you guys what Micah's been up to. So here you have it, once again, Micah's happenings.
He's walking around in any shoes he finds.
Making funny faces for the camera.
Dressing and undressing himself. Here, he's put his pants on backward.
Somehow, he learned to say "Cheese" for the camera. I did not teach him this.
He also is learning to work the computer. Not really, but he certainly looks like he does.
He's starting to want his picture taken.
Photobombing his dad.
Sleeping in our bed, even though he has his own.
Driving lessons. He loves to be under the steering wheel if we're sitting in the car waiting.
Again with sleeping in our bed. This time hogging the bed.
Hanging out in our room before bed.
A different perspective.
Be on the look out for my 25 week {and 3 days} update later tonight. I'm working on it right now.
